Bokura: Planet Lands on Switch 2 Today; Prequel Bokura in November
Tokoronyori dropped Bokura: Planet on Switch and Switch 2 today, and the prequel hits in less than a week. This co-op puzzle adventure strands two inmates on a hostile red planet where voice chat is your only bridge—and your only weapon. The prequel, simply titled Bokura, arrives July 29 for $4.99, giving Switch 2 owners a back-to-back story of trust, secrets, and betrayal.
Co-op Puzzle Design Built for Handheld Voice Chat
Both Bokura titles revolve around two-player coordination through voice chat, which maps naturally onto handhelds where the microphone and headphone jack are always within reach. The dual-reality mechanic is the hook: each player sees a completely different environment—one dystopian and mechanical, the other reclaimed by nature—and the only way to solve puzzles is to describe what you see out loud. On Switch 2, the larger screen and improved audio output make this more comfortable for extended sessions. Battery drain from voice chat is the real limiter here, not the graphics. These are not demanding renders, but keeping Bluetooth audio or the built-in mic running will shave time off a full charge compared to single-player sessions.
A Prequel and a Sequel in Seven Days
Bokura: Planet is available now as a digital download on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The prequel Bokura was originally announced for November, then got pulled forward to July 29 at $4.99. That puts both games in players’ hands within a single week, which is aggressive scheduling for a series built on intimate two-player cooperation. The compressed window works in the games’ favor though—the moral ambiguity and deliberate withholding of information between partners will feel more immediate when the sequel is still fresh in memory. These are short-session co-op experiences, ideal for handheld play whether a partner is beside you on the couch or connected remotely.
