Cyberpunk 2077 for £20 Is the Switch 2 Deal to Watch
Bundles are usually where retailers quietly dump the games nobody asked for. Argos has gone the other way: through October 6, its Next Level Gaming sale sells the Nintendo Switch 2 with your pick of Cyberpunk 2077, Pokémon Pokopia, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond or Star Fox for £374.99 — £20 more than the £354.99 the bare console is going for elsewhere in the UK. That is a genuine discount on titles that normally sell at full price, not a throwaway pack-in.
For handheld players, though, the four-way choice isn’t interchangeable. One of those games will chew through the Switch 2’s battery faster than anything else in your library and is probably already sitting unplayed in half the Steam Decks reading this. The other three you simply cannot buy anywhere else. Which one you pick decides whether this bundle is a bargain or a £20 nudge toward the wrong shelf — worth weighing against the wider deals hub before you commit.
One of These Four Will Eat the Battery Alive
Cyberpunk 2077 is the headline name and the poorest fit for portable play. This is the same game that pins the Steam Deck to low presets for a 30 FPS ceiling and forces ROG Ally owners into FSR performance modes just to hold a frame. CD Projekt’s Switch 2 port leans on DLSS to get it running, and it looks far sharper than it has any right to on a handset — but it draws power like a docked console. Expect it to sit at the very bottom of the Switch 2’s battery range, well short of the six-hour ceiling lighter titles reach.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is the pick that flatters the hardware. Nintendo has pitched its Switch 2 edition around a high-refresh performance mode, and a first-party game built to hit that target is exactly what the 1080p/120Hz panel was shipped for. Pokémon Pokopia and Star Fox are the unknowns here — Valve has no stake and Nintendo hasn’t disclosed performance targets for either — but neither is likely to spin the fan the way Night City does.
The £20 Uplift Only Works If You Skipped the Deck Version
Here’s the uncomfortable part: Cyberpunk 2077 is the one game in the bundle most of you already own. It has been on Steam for years, it drops to pocket change in every seasonal sale, and it runs on whatever handheld PC is already in your bag. Paying £20 for a second copy on Switch 2 only makes sense if cross-progression and the tablet form factor are worth that to you — and for plenty of players, honestly, they are.
Everyone else should read this as a first-party discount. Pokémon Pokopia, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Star Fox are Nintendo-only, and £20 against a full-priced release is a real saving. The bare console is £354.99; the bundle is worth the extra only if you’re certain about the game before you hit checkout. If you’d have bought it at full price next week anyway, this is free money. If you’re choosing Cyberpunk because it’s the name you remember from a 2021 Steam sale, buy the console and keep the £20.
